Luke is the founder and principal member of The Swanson Insurance Group, LLC. He has nearly 20 years of experience in insurance including leadership roles at Wheatland Insurance, Philadelphia Insurance, and Federated Insurance.

Luke attended Eastern Oregon University where he played basketball. He graduated in 2001 with honors in business. After graduation, Luke began his insurance career when he joined Federated Insurance and moved to Owatonna, MN as a Marketing Development Trainee, a 9-month post-graduate course with intensive and comprehensive training in insurance.  

 

Luke’s first assignment with Federated was a sales territory in North Central California where he quickly became a standout, winning several production and sales awards. Promoted to Account Executive, Luke relocated to Scottsdale, AZ where he was responsible for managing the endorsement of over 30 trade associations on the West Coast. In December of 2006, another promotion brought the Swansons to West Linn, OR where he was the District Marketing Supervisor handling the Sales Management responsibilities for Oregon and Idaho, including all recruiting, training, and development of sales representatives.  

 

Wanting to expand his insurance career further, Luke took a new role with Philadelphia Insurance as a Marketing Representative in Tigard, OR in 2009. He was responsible for working with independent agencies in Oregon and SW Washington. Becoming one of the top sales producers in the Western Region over the next two years, Luke found his passion for wanting to become an independent agent. In 2011, Luke, Tyan and their two boys, Carter and Chase, move back to Eastern Oregon and Luke worked with Wheatland Insurance for the next 8 years building a large book of business and establishing trusted partnerships with businesses across the region. In 2018, Luke started The Swanson Insurance Group, LLC with a focus on being a true business partner to clients and hiring employees who embody our mission, vision and values, including the 3 cornerstones of Trust, Service and Guidance.  

 

Luke devotes his free time to volunteering in the Hermiston community and spending time with his family. He coaches a variety of sports programs for his two boys including football, basketball and lacrosse. When not at a sporting event, the Swansons enjoy boating, snowboarding, hiking and camping with family and friends.

 

Luke is an active member of the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce, the Hermiston Rotary Club, and the Eastern Oregon University Foundation Board of Trustees.
